About Kris

I'm Kris Evergreen—host of the Daily Goodwill podcast, author of my first book Daily Goodwill: A Book of Kindness, and the voice behind Evergreen Echoes on Spurlin.FM.

If you're expecting a polished biography full of impressive credentials and remarkable achievements, I should probably warn you: that's not quite my story. My story is quieter than that. It's made up of small moments, ordinary days, and the slow realization that kindness—real, practical, everyday kindness—might be the most important thing we can practice.

The Porch Light Philosophy

If I had to sum up everything I believe in a single image, it would be my grandmother's porch light.

Not a spotlight. Not a beacon demanding attention. Just a steady glow that says: You're welcome here. There's warmth inside. You don't have to carry your burden alone.

Leave your light on. Not for recognition or reward. Not because anyone is watching. But as a quiet, consistent signal of welcome.

💚

Kindness starts with yourself

You can't pour from an empty cup. The way you treat yourself sets the foundation for how you treat everyone else.

🌱

Consistency beats intensity

Small acts, repeated daily, create the kind of change that lasts. Show up with a cup of coffee every Tuesday.

👀

Attention is love

Real kindness isn't just being nice. It's noticing. Noticing what someone needs. Noticing when they're struggling.

🤗

Assume people are carrying something

You rarely know what someone is going through. Extending grace costs us so little and can mean so much.

Go Easy

On yourself. On others. On the day as it unfolds.

Not as weakness—as wisdom. The recognition that we're all doing our best with what we have. That perfection isn't the goal. That showing up imperfectly is better than not showing up at all.
